Film Conventions Traditions, dominant styles, and popular forms used by filmmakers which are generally accepted as the principles of filmmaking. Plot The structures for presenting everything that we see of hear in a film. The order and arrangement of all elements, both diegetic and non-diegetic. Diegesis The total world of the film's story: the events, characters, objects, settings, and sounds that form the world in which the story occurs. Diegetic Anything that exists within the world of the story. Non-Diegetic Elements which come from outside the world of the story: Text, Third Person Narration, Score
