Five little liars written by Amanda K. Morgan
1 What is the connection between the title and the book? Explain in detail with examples from the
book. How does the title relate to the main character/s?
- The book is about five students who were all in the same class and accidentally killed there teacher
but instead of calling the ambulance they decide to get rid of the body and come up with a story that
doesn't end in jail time. So the title five little liars stands for the five students who make up a fake
story.

2 Characterization: What kind of person is/are the main character/s? In what ways does that
become clear to you as a reader? Explain with examples from the book.
- All the five liars are main characters and the story is told by all of them. Above every new chapter
stands the name of the person from who's perspective the story is told. The main characters are:
Ivy, Tyler, Kinley, Cade and Mattie. They are all around the same age as me. They aren't friends but
are all connected by the murder they committed or witnessed.

3 Who is your favourite character in the book and why? Explain with details of what he/she is
saying / doing in the book
- I didn't really have a favourite character cause all the characters got things that I really didn't like
about them. For example Kinley she seems like a perfect girl but she does everything to make sure
she keeps her perfect record or Mattie who is a really sweet boy but he doesn't want to live the rest
of his life in prison but to prevent that he will have to turn them all in. So as you can see the
characters can be really fun to read about but I can't chose a favourite because of the things they
would all do to keep themself safe.

4 Development: In what ways does the main character change or develop during the story? How do
you notice that as a reader? Give detailed examples from the book.
- They don't go through a massive change but you can tell that some of the character find it really
hard to deal with what they have been through. As a reader you don't notice it very well because
there wasn't told much about the characters before the murder so therefore you can't really
compare it.

5 Conflict: What is the most important emotional conflict that the main character becomes involved
in? How does the writer end the conflict? Explain.
- The most important conflict is of course the murder that they committed or witnessed. The conflict
didn't really have an end. The last thing there was told was that the detective got a flash drive with
all the info he needed to solve the murder but we don't get to know anything that is put on the flash
drive.

6 Ending: Is there an open or closed ending to the book? How did that make you feel as a reader?
- The book has an open ending, at the end of the book the detective who investigates the murder
gets a flash drive with all the information he needed to know about the murder on the teacher. But
as a reader you don't get to know what's all on the flash drive so therefore you don’t know how it is
going to end up with the five students. As a reader this was very annoying because I really wanted to
know how the story ended.

7 Setting: In what ways are time and place made important in the book? In what way is that
important to the story? Any unexpected setting details? (e.g. A war story in an unexpected setting?)
- Time and place are important in the whole book, the story happens in not a really long period of
time (1 month) and at some parts of the story the time is very important because you know how
