Why we should stop wasting our time

Around one year ago, I read a book called: ‘They both die at the end’, by Adam Silvera. The book
was about a boy who got to hear that he had only one day left to live, the moment he heard this
terrifying message, he immediately felt a feeling of regret haunting him, regret on how he had lived
his life, regret on how he could’ve lived it much better, and regret on how he hadn’t done everything
he wanted to do. But, what if I told you that many of us would probably be in the same situation as
him, if we got to hear that we had only one day left to live. However, unlike him, we can still change
our situation, we can still avoid this feeling of regret, and we can still improve our lives.

Living is more than just surviving, as poet Oscar Wilde once said: ‘To live is the rarest thing in the
world. Most people exist, that’s all.’ The daily routine of many of us is; we wake up, we go to school,
we make our homework, we sleep, and we wake up again. But eventually, our daily routines will
become our daily struggle, it will become boring and exhausting. Therefore, change is a significance
factor in living our lives the fullest. Life shouldn’t have a routine, it should be a new adventure
everyday.

But, what type of changes can we make, which changes can make our lives more enjoyable? Well, it's
crucial to make changes that push us out of our comfort zones. Fear often holds us back from taking
risks, yet if we never try anything new, we may miss out on some of life's most amazing experiences.
Even though stepping outside of our comfort zones might be unpleasant, doing so can lead to personal
growth and fulfillment. As author John A. Shedd once said, ‘A ship in harbour is safe, but that is not
where ships are built for.’ In other words, staying within our comfort zone may feel secure, but it
won't allow us to reach our full potential or create the great moments we desire.

To sum up, life is short, but we should live it to the fullest. It's essential to break free from our daily
routines and make changes that push us out of our comfort zones, allowing us to grow personally and
experience all that life has to offer. We should strive to live rather than merely exist, as every day is
an opportunity to make the most out of life.

Thank you all for your attention.
