Section B of the Portfolio
Entry One - Dramatic Performance Module
For this module, we were given roles for a drama performance that we had to
perform. The drama piece that we have performed was Katzenmusik written by
Tom Fowler which is a naturalistic performance. The roles that I had
undertaken were the Mayor, twitter user and pub local.
The goals that I had set myself for this module was to update my performance
skills, especially within drama by learning new skills within class by the third
week of lectures at the university. Another goal that I have set myself was to
improve my line learning and find a new style to learn so that I could learn all of
my lines by 24th October 2019. I would achieve this by asking others for help,
proofread this, ask a lecturer for help when I need it and to try to avoid using
my script when I am rehearsing. During the rehearsals, I had achieved this goal
by writing my lines onto some flashcards and memorising them within my own
time and dedicating an hour each night learning my lines. I felt like I could have
achieved this part better as I still struggled during final rehearsal week but I
still improved my line learning.
,My time management, especially throughout this project, is pretty good as I
haven’t missed a lecture nor missed a rehearsal. I could improve by organising
and scheduling rehearsals for the small individual groups that I’m a part of so
that I could perfect the pieces so therefore, I would minimise making any
mistakes in terms of spacing, memorising movement and choreography.
I would say that my conflict style tends to be either collaborating or
compromise as I tend to try my best to please everyone with their ideas within
creating a performance but I do like putting my ideas across and hopefully
people would listen to them so that we could workshop ideas and come up with
performance material.
I would say that my personality trait is a combination of neuroticism and
extraversion unless I’m in a larger group then I tend to shy out and be more
agreeable and conscientious as I tend to get worried about people turning on me
and try to force me out of the group. “Openness is the tendency to appreciate
new art, ideas, values, feelings and behaviours.
Conscientious is the tendency to be careful, on-time for appointments, to follow
rules, and to be hardworking.
Extraversion is the tendency to be talkative, sociable and to enjoy others; the
tendency to have a dominant style.
, Agreeableness is the tendency to agree and go along with others rather than to
assert one’s own opinions and choices.
Neuroticism is the tendency to frequency experience negative emotions such as
anger, worry and sadness, as well as being interpersonally sensitive.”

During this module, my personality trait was more agreeableness and
conscientious as it was my first performance, it was a drama performance and I
was more conscientious about how I look on stage as an actress and more
