SOCS 325 Week 7 Discussion, Creating an Ecological Society Compare & contrast bottom-up & top-down approaches to creating an ecological society, examining the advantages & disadvantages of each. To build an ecological society while considering the risks & benefits to using a “bottom-up” or “top-down” approach depends how you like to live. If you prefer structures of government having control of your daily life or having more freedom to live within your own boundaries will determine which bottom or top approach to take action. The fact that there’s multiple communities in the world, draws on the first problem with the bottom-up approach, where each community involves different interests & sentimentalities for the world, obscuring any chance of harmonizing any movements to tackle problems effecting more than one community. The communities have solidarity with mutual interest but leave out the communities outside their borders. Communities also lack the time & resources to affect change through a bottom-up approach as they face corporations who hire lawyers that represent their interest 24/7. Employees are easier to have get something done compared to finding volunteers within the community to do the same. Aimed at chopping down a local forest, a wood company probably has themeansand money to mount upresources that a small 100 person population town living nearby fighting to save their forests can’t match. It makes sense to take a certain approach in certain situations, like when trying to pass emissions regulation on cars the top-bottom approach would only work as the local communities & public have little control over car production standards when it comes to enforcing fog, emissions or GPM restrictions. The government would have a better chance at controlling the standards for companies to follow for a top-bottom approach in a shorter term goal, as a bottom-up approach could find major hurdles as there’s many different size shoes in the transportation industry. The best thing locally we can do is influence the market with our choices in purchasing through promoting greener cars among our communities. Documentation & reimbursement is such an important aspect of nursing, however it can also be taken down a non-ethical path. I have seen in long term care where the Nursing Director will bring the chart to the nurse & present the working that that supervisor is to document. Even though it is for reimbursement, I think that is taking documenting to a different level & not ethical. Does the need to chart for the purpose of reimbursement influence documentation? It does seem a bit unethical. Shannon Respond Collapse Mark as Read Documentation & Reimbursement Sendy Etienne Email this Author 2/4/2015 11:51:38 AM Nursing documentation is an effective, ethical & safe practice in nursing that helps in determining the assessments done on a patient & can be used to determine the conditions of the patient. Documentation can be paper based or electronic. Center for Medicare & Medicaid services provides Medicare programs, choice for the aged population & also health care service to the people. Together with the Government, the Center for Medicare & Medicaid administers Medicare programs & also offer State Children's Health Insurance program. Introduction of Center for Medicare & Medicaid is critical to the country since it helps in improving the health of all the people (Holzemer & 2010). Medicare payment denial is a notice given to the enrollees informing them of discontinuation of certain treatment which they applied for. The notice given can be challenged but this has an effect on nurse
