Title: A Qualitative Study Exploring Borderline Personality Disorder in Adolescence across
the world
Author: 63992256
1. Abstract
Borderline Personality Disorder: Significant functional impairments, a high risk of suicide, an
adverse impact on the course of depressive disorders, intensive treatment use, and
substantial societal costs are the hallmarks of this condition. Compared to what is typical for
personality disorders, the course of this disorder is less stable. Although the exact origins
are still unknown according to studies, but the disorder appears to be brought on by an
interaction between hereditary factors and unfavourable life events. Numerous symptoms
may be linked to anomalies in the front limbic networks, according to neurobiological study.
Data on the efficacy of medication differ, and the data is still insufficient. Types of
psychotherapy appear to be helpful for at least some of the issues that borderline personality
disorder patients typically experience.
Research Interest: The goal of this study is to better understand how mental illness, namely
borderline personality disorder, develops during the vulnerable adolescent years and how it
affects adolescents in the future.
Demographic: Individuals in their adolescent years, from all races, ethnic backgrounds, and
cultures.
Research question: How does borderline personality disorder affect adolescents?
Proposed Research Method: A qualitive methodological approach.
Population and Sampling Technique: Adolescence worldwide will be the population sample.
In contrast to general population samples, there is a relationship between borderline
personality disorders and psychosocial functioning during adolescence. The root of this is
that mental illnesses may not always manifest themselves fully in young individuals, and
they might also be confused with puberty and be misinterpreted. This is a sampling of the

,global community where the many expressions of growing symptoms and their relationship
to functioning may be found.
Proposed Data Collection Method: The proposed data collection method that will be used is
that of several research studies and published articles. Including Psychiatric interviews.
Keywords: borderline personality, adolescence, worldwide, prevalence, puberty, assessment,
population, sample, qualitive research, psychodynamics, cognitive theory, biological theory

plagiarism check will be performed. In cases where the threshold of +- 40% similarity with
other existing publications is surpassed this will likely mean that proposal mark will be
nullified, and this may lead to a disciplinary hearing. Depending on the findings of the
disciplinary hearing this may lead to my expulsion from the university for a lengthy period of
time.
