1. Why do you think you are suitable for this position?
Ans: State your abilities as a History teacher, why you majored in
History,what you can do different to other teachers that will help learners
excel in the subject and enjoy it, how you will work with your colleagues and
support them.
2. What are your favorite aspects of history?
Ans: I love the study of history because it allows us to understand the present
and the future by understanding the past. I also enjoy the challenge of piecing
together the puzzle of the past through primary and secondary sources.
Additionally, I find it fascinating to learn about different cultures and how they
have interacted with each other over time
3. What are your favorite historical periods?
Ans: I absolutely love the medieval period, what I love about this period is to
learn about the kings and queens at that time and the various wars that were
fought then. I also, find the architecture and art of that period to be fascinating.
Additionally, I enjoy studying the Renaissance and the Reformation, as they
were both pivotal moments in history.
4. What are your favorite history books? NB: State the books that you like in
the South African context.
Ans: My favourite history books are The History of Herodotus, The decline of
the United states by Howard Zinn. I love these books because they provide
such detailed accounts of the past. They really bring history to life and help
me understand the complex events that shaped our world
5. What do you like most about teaching history?
Ans: Being able to share my passion for history with my students, it is also
gratifying to see students apply what they have learned in class to their own
lives and to the world around them.
