Eukaryotic cells U

·
All animals, plant, fungal and protocist cells are eukaryotic cells.
All eukaryotic cells contain a nucleus, a nucleolus, cytoplasm,
cytoskeleton, a plasma membrane, membrane bound organelles,
small vesicles and ribosomes.
Membrane bound organelles and
their function:
Cells are
Nucleus: is separated from the rest of the
fundamental units
cell by the nuclear envelope, is the control
or building blocks
Center for the cell, stores the organisms
to all living
genome, transmits genetic information,
organisms
provides instruct for protein synthesis
SER ( smooth endoplasmic reticulum): Lots of organelles are membrane bound to
separate them from the rest of the cell.
prokaryotic cells do not have these.
SER contains enzymes that catalyse the
reactions involved with lipid metabolism such as
cholesterol synthesis, lipid and phospholipid
synthesis, and steroid hormone synthesis
RER(rough endoplasmic reticulum):
RER is the intercellular transport system that transports
substances from one area to another. It has a large surface to
provide space for ribosomes to allow them to assemble amino acids
into proteins
