A chronic disorder characterized by excessive alcohol intake that interferes in the individual’s health, economic and interpersonal relationships. • Asperger Syndrome. An autism spectrum disorder that have milder symptoms of autistic disorder. • Asphyxia. An obstruction of the trachea • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a mental disorder of the neurodevelopment type characterized by difficulty paying attention, excessive activity, and acting without regards to consequences, which are otherwise not appropriate for a person's age • Autistic Disorder. An autism spectrum disorder with significant language delays, social and communication challenges, and unusual behaviors and interests. This is sometimes called “classic” autism. • Autism spectrum disorder. A condition related to brain development that impacts how a person perceives and socializes with others, causing problems in social interaction and communication. The disorder also includes limited and repetitive patterns of behavior • Bisexuality. A repeated voiding during the day or night into clothing or bed by a child at least 5 years of age • Gender Role. Behaviors or roles that result in our becoming men and women • Heterosexuality. Sexual attraction between man and woman. • Homosexuality. Sexual attraction members of one’s own sex • Inhalants. A volatile substances that produce chemical vapors that can be inhaled to induce a psychoactive, or mind-altering, effect • Intellectual Disability Disorder (ID). Once called mental retardation, is characterized by below-average intelligence or mental ability and a lack of skills necessary for day-today living • Intoxication. One or more alcohol drinks causing a major personality change • Learning disabilities. Refers to ongoing problems in one of three areas, reading, writing and math, which are foundational to one’s ability to learn • Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). A crystalline compound prepared from natural ergot alkaloids or synthetically, also known colloquially as acid • Minimization. Cognitive distortion consisting of a tendency to present events to oneself or others as insignificant or unimportant • Motor skills disorder.Also known as developmental coordination disorder, is diagnosed when motor skills problems significantly interfere with academic achievement or activities of daily living • Neurodevelopmental disorders. An impairments of the growth and development of the brain and/or central nervous system • Orthorexia nervosa. Obsession with eating only “clean, healthy, pure” foods to achieve “ideal” health. • Perimyolysis. Decalcification of the teeth from exposure to gastric acid in people with chronic vomiting • Pervasive Developmental Disorder – Not Otherwise Specified. This is sometimes called “atypical autism,” or PDD-NOS. People with this disorder usually have fewer and milder symptoms than those with autistic disorder. h
