Junayd Dad Unit 36-M2 Mrs Spenceley

M2- Analyse the personal development needed to run the business successfully

In this task, I will be analysing the personal development which is needed in order to run my
business successfully. My business name is Taste Budz. I will also be explaining how the
improvement of my personal skills that are needed will have on my organisation. I will also be
explaining how I will be improving these skills and how it will benefit me as a business.

Skills which are necessary for the success of my business

The first skill which is needed in order for my business to be successful would be Teamwork skills.
My teamwork skills are excellent. The way that I have this skill is through my current job at Stoke
Place Hotel. My Job is to set out cutlery in a certain manner and also serve food and drink to the
guests but I don’t do this on my own as I have the help of 7 other staff members and we all work
together to ensure that our guests have a great visit at the hotel and that they enjoy their food and
drink. As I will be managing a team due to me being the owner of the business, I have to ensure that
I use this skill because I will have to put some work into ensuring that my business is successful. This
is very important skill as in business, it is all about teamwork. I will also be working with accountants
who will be managing the finance of my business. I believe that my financial and accounting skills are
my weakest skill.

In my opinion, I think my strongest skill would be my ICT Skills. I am very good with working with
computers inside and out and my knowledge about computers is quite strong. The way I have this
skill is I achieved a Grade B in GCSE ICT due to my coursework being strong and my exam was done
well too. I have always had ICT skills since I was young because half of my family had gone into ICT. I
am now pursuing ICT at an A Level and I hope to get a degree in this industry because I would want
to go into this industry in the future due to the future developments and my love for technology.
Technology is developing every single day which means I must keep up with this and I will need to
use a computer to record anything in the business. Things such as wages for the workers and a rota
could be made on the computer which would show when they would be working and how many
hours they would be required to work so people know exactly when they have to come into work
instead of missing work and then the business being short staffed. Any sort of computer will help but
ICT Skills are needed in order to use this and I have more than just basic ICT Skills. The majority of
jobs need ICT Skills as everything is becoming more computerised. For example tax can be paid
online so this would save me time in sending off a letter to the tax man and this would save me costs
on postage.

My second strongest skill would be my communication skills. Communication is needed as there will
always be communication between my business and the customers/the people outside of the
business. I will have to communicate with my workers to ensure that they are working well and hard.
Also, I have to communicate with people such as accountant as I will be hiring an accountant to do
my finance as my financial and accounting skills are not very good. Communication is required
throughout everything that is done. With communication skills, there comes many skills within this
large skill and they are:

 Communication skills- Written and Verbal
 Teamwork skills
 Initiative
