This research-heavy essay will consist of an outline of the methods that my business uses to
adapt their products to differentiated international markets, analysing how effective their
strategies and resources of international operations are, and evaluating the success of them.
Specifically speaking, I will explain what their strategies are and how they have used them,
stating the strengths and weaknesses of them. After this, I will give a recommendation to
each.
The entirety of this essay will be based on McDonalds, a very well-known business that
operates in the fast-food industry. As of 2021, they have 40,031 shops in over 119 countries.
Their headquarters are in Chicago, Illinois, USA. In 2021, they made $23.223B in revenue,
$10.356B in operating income and $7.545B in net income. They employ at least 200K
workers, dubbing them as a large business. Their business aims are:
• Serve the quickest, highest quality of food above all competitors
• Let approximately 95% of restaurants be franchised, and 5% corporate-operated
• To feed and foster communities, impacting the world positively
They operate in most countries in both North/South America and Europe, excluding Bolivia,
Russia, Belarus, Albania, Macedonia and most European micro-states, such as
Liechtenstein and San Marino. In Africa, they only operate in Morocco, Egypt and South
Africa. Miscellaneously, they also operate in India, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia,
Australia and NZ.
