Unit 12
M1
The advantages of internet marketing to customers
Less time consuming: A customer would find it quicker to shop for their products online then it
would in a store as they would only have to search for the product that they wanted into a search
bar which would take seconds and would not have to go around the store looking for the product
that they want. They could set up delivery so that their basket was saved so that they would not
have to add all of their products each time and could have their whole shopping delivered in a click.
This would be beneficial for the customer as it would mean they would not have to spend as much
time shopping which would be convenient for them.
Working hours: Shopping for products online would mean that the customer could do it at the time
which was most convenient for them. A customer would find it convenient and would be more
satisfied if they could pick the times that they want to do their shopping and the time that would
suit them to have it delivered, especially if they worked through the times that the store was open
and could not get there, or if they could not easily travel to the location.
No sale pressure: A customer would feel more comfortable shopping online as they would be able
to make up their mind on the product that they wanted and they would not feel pressured to buy a
certain product that they might not necessarily want.
Complaints service: A customer would benefit from being able to put a complaint in online as it
would mean that they would more likely be truthful about what they thought and would not feel
bad like they would if there was face to face interaction when dealing with a complaint. It would also
ensure that the business would receive their complaints and hopefully their shopping experience
would be improved.
Amount of stock: A customer would benefit from the larger volume of stock that businesses would
have online then if you went into a store where they only hold the amount of stock that they can. A
customer therefore would feel more satisfied and would be happy as the products that they want
are more likely to be in stock and they would not have to look for an alternative.
Ability to compare: A customer would be happy with using the internet when shopping for their
products as it would mean there would be a lot of websites that they could compare prices and
would be able to find the best deal with a wider choice. Customers would be getting the best deal
for their money which would leave them satisfied with shopping on the internet.
Wider choice: If a customer shopped on the internet then it would mean they would have a wider
amount of shops that they would be able to look at them if they were shopping in store as they
would be limited to the shops that were there. It allows customers to be able to find stores that are
not near them and they would be able to deliver from stores around the world that would not be
accessible before.
Greater individualisation: Businesses can keep information on their customers online and they
would be able to tailor their future shopping to the recent searches that they have had. Businesses
