Hoofdstuk 1 De oorzaken van de sociale problematiek
1.1 Definitie
Na traumatische gebeurtenissen zoals een verkeersongeval of seksueel geweld kunnen
psychische problemen opspelen, zoals
herbelevingen, negatieve gedachten, angst, stress
of boosheid. We spreken van sociale problemen
wanneer iemand problemen heeft met andere
mensen, instellingen of organisaties.
1.2 Betekenis psychosociale problemen
Zoals het woord al laat zien zijn psychosociale
problemen een combinatie van psychische en
sociale problemen. Psychische problemen hebben
te maken met hoe iemand zich voelt, emoties en
gedachten. Bij psychosociale problemen gaat het
dus om problematiek waarin psychische en sociale
problemen samenkomen.
1.3 Oorzaken van sociale problematiek
Er zijn diverse oorzaken die een sociale problematiek kunnen veroorzaken, zoals overlijden van
een dierbare of het meemaken van een misdrijf, ongeval of ramp.
Soms heeft iemand al problemen op een bepaald gebied zoals werk en leiden omstandigheden
als ziekte of een scheiding tot extra stress en onzekerheid waardoor psychosociale problemen
ontstaan. Een sociaal probleem is soms een gevolg van een psychisch probleem of andersom.
Wanneer iemand veel negatieve gedachten en stress ervaart kan dit leiden tot spanningen in
iemands relatie. Door een gebrek aan concentratievermogen presteert iemand slechter op het
werk en kunnen daar conflicten ontstaan. Andersom kan een lastige kwestie met een instelling
zoals een verzekeringsmaatschappij leiden tot frustratie, woede of stress.
