1.2 Key planning elements that should be included when designing learning programme.
- Principles of CAPS that must be incorporated in all teaching, learning and
assessment.
- Time frames for all teaching, learning and assessment.
- Core knowledge and concepts that will be used in attaining the learning aims and
assessment criteria.
- Aims and assessment criteria across the phase and how they are to be
sequenced.
- Context/ Themes within which the teaching, learning and assessment will occur.
- How progression (increasing conceptual complexity) will occur within subjects
and from grade to grade, while considering integration across different subjects.

1.3 Three principles of assessment and demonstrate how you will apply them in your
classroom.

(a) Validity- I give learners a test and make sure the test is actually measuring what it
claims to measure. I will assess a certain learning objective.
(b) Reliability- I will give learners a reliable test that gives clear directions for scoring
and that has uniform rubric for scoring. It will have clear process of setting and
moderation.
