Native America Cultures
The Native American culture indeed used to share stories from one generation to their predecessors. Most of these tales were used as educational tools, passing down essential life lessons to their children. Adding to the point, these stories would mostly be entertaining to capture the listener's attention, which in most cases were children, especially since children have short attention spans. They therefore, need to have constant mental stimulation to ensure their attention (Bruchac et al. 1991). "The daughter of the sun" is an excellent example in this case as it gives a context of the times back then.
