Solution
No the bacterial sporulation is not a reprodutive process.
sporulation is formation of spores, this is a type of reproduction that ocuurs in fungi, algae, and
protozoa and involves in formation of spores the spontaneous division of cell into 4 or more
daughter cell, each daughter cell contains a part of the original nucleus.
Sporulation is the formation of nearly dormant forms of bacteria . Bacteria usually do this so that
they produce endospores. When bacteria are in a hostile environment, they produces dormant
bodies known as endospores contains genetic material, cytoplasm , and the necessary enzymes
and other materials to sustain activity.Bacterial endospores are resistant to antibiotics, most
disinfectants, and physical agents such as radiation, spore coat is thought to be responsible for the
endospore\'s resistance to chemicals.
The endospore that surrounds the bacterium. The result is essentially a little spherical cell inside
the larger bacterium. The little cell is referred to as the \"daughter cell\" and the original
bacterium is now called the \"mother cell.\"
Sporulation enables the bacteria to survive in hostile environments until a more suitable
environment is available.the mother cell does not survive.no net increase in the population is
attained. In bacterial reproduction, two daughter cells are produced, in sporulation, only one
spore is made.So it is a survival process not reproductive process.
