The title
The title of my book is Thirteen reasons why, because the story is about Hannah Baker. And
there are thirteen reasons why Hannah committed suicide. All these thirteen reasons are fully
explained in the book.

Genre
It’s a psychological novel, because the story is about suicide and suicidal thoughts and this is
a psychological problem.

Main characters
Hannah Baker: she is a smart and very friendly girl, however, she had very hard times that
made her commit suicide.

Clay Jensen: Clay is 16 years old. He is a good boy, shy and doesn’t speak much. He is one
of the people who got Hannah’s box with the tapes.

Plot
The book is about Clay Jensen. One day Clay receives a package with 7 audiotapes in it.
When he begins to listen, he discovers that the package is from Hanna Baker, a girl who
committed suicide several weeks ago. On the tapes she talks about the thirteen reasons why
she committed suicide. Only the people who were a reason for her suicide receive the
package, one by one. At the beginning of the first tape she tells that there is another box with
the same tapes and if people do not forward the package, everyone will be able to listen to
these tapes. Clay is the ninth on the list. After listening to his tape, he discovers that he is not
the same as the others. He didn’t do anything to Hannah.
Ultimately, Clay knows why Hannah, the girl he liked, committed suicide. To fulfill
Hannah’s wish, Clay sends the package to the next person on the tapes.
