1.2 demonstrate these roles in your classroom
1) Assessor
Will design and manage both formative and summative assessments in
ways that are appropriate to the level and purpose of the learning and
meet the requirements of accrediting bodies
Will have an understanding of the purposes, methods and effects of
assessment and be able to provide helpful feedback to learners. E.g.
show learners how they can improve.
2) Leaning mediator
Will mediate learning in a manner which is sensitive to the diverse needs
of learners. E.g. not to humiliate a student due to their inability to learn
Showing recognition of, and respect for the differences among learners. E.g.
call learners by their names.
3) Interpreter and designer of learning programmes and materials
Identify the requirements for a specific context of learning, select and prepare
suitable textual and visual resources for learning. E.g. media
Will also select the sequence and pace of the learning in a manner sensitive
to the differing needs of both the subject and the learners.
4) Leader, administrator and manager
Carry out classroom administrative duties efficiently and participate in
school decision making structures. E.g. Classroom rules, create conducive
learning environment.
Support learners and colleagues, and demonstrate responsiveness to
changing circumstances and needs.
5) Scholar, researcher and lifelong learner
Research in learning area, in broader professional and educational
matters, and in other related fields.
Will achieve ongoing personal, academic, occupational and professional
growth through pursuing reflective study.
6) Community, citizenship and pastoral role
