1. Find the definition of unemployment and express it in an equation form.
Unemployment is the number of people who do not have a workplace but are between the working
ages (15-64 years). This can be expressed as an equation form:
Unemployment Rate = Number of Unemployed Persons / Labor Force or Active Population*
*Labor Force = unemployed + employed.
2. Find the numbers that would correspond to the calculation of unemployment rate in the
year 2018 for the following countries: Spain, Greece, Germany, France, Netherlands and
Austria. Do a table with the data.
