Explain how project management skills were
used in the management of an IT project.

The project management skills I used in the management of our IT project included many
things such as time management within the project. Keeping to deadlines which i gave
myself the second most highest responsibility. The way I had to manage time effectively
was to create a table with my group in which each of us had our own responsibilities. For
example, I had the responsibility of being a project sponsor. Keeping track of time was
something that me and my project managers had to do.
Furthermore, moving on to communication within the project, I presented my idea to a wide
range of audiences to give feedback, furthermore with the feedback given, I made changes
such as Keep others on track on a collaborative project. I had to review the plan of the
database with our project managers and made sure that they stayed on track.
An important skill I have used was to organise meetings and contribute effectively during
discussions. The reason this is important is because Collaboration, leadership, and high-
quality decision-making are all facilitated through project meetings. The best method to keep
projects on track is to hold well-organised meetings at each important milestone. Excellent
project managers are known for holding successful project meetings which I have guided the
project managers to do so. I have listened to the project managers and gave them advice on
what I think about the project idea and solutions Furthermore, I have worked towards our
group objectives such as completion of the project by 30/05/2022. The way this was all done
was that everyone in my group had to work collaboratively on the document and each of us
were assigned roles. For example, I was assigned to complete deadlines, give feedback to
the project managers, create a budget plan etc. Also to add on, I had to analyse the risk and
issues for our project which i talked about the implications of having a software as the main
system.
