Oriënterende testen arteria vertebralis:Distractietest:
positie patiënt: ruglig.
positie therapeut: Zit achter de patiënt met een hand onder de rand van
het occiput en een hand onder de kin, of beide handen onder de rand van
het occiput en geeft loodrechte tractie richting craniaal.
uitkomst: De test is positief wanneer de herkenbare radiculaire
symptomen afnemen tijdens het uitvoeren van de tractie. Toename van
de pijn kan gevolg zijn van spierspasmen, ligament verstuiking,
spierspanning, duraal prikkelbaarheid of hernia.
Spurling’s Compression test:
test wordt uitgevoerd om klachten uit te lokken.
positie patiënt: zitten.
Uitvoering: De spurling’s test wordt in 3 verschillende stadia
uitgevoerd. De test is positief wanneer de patiënt herkenbare
(radiculaire) klachten ervaart tijdens het uitvoeren van de test. Als er
bij de eerste of tweede stap een provocatie van klachten optreed is
de test positief en dient er niet verder getest te worden. De testen
worden in de onderstaande volgorde uitgevoerd, omdat een
opvolgende stap het foramen intervertebrale telkens iets kleiner
maakt dan de voorgaande stap.
1. Therapeut geeft een axiale druk richting caudaal op het hoofd van
de patiënt. De cervicale wervelkolom van de patiënt is in neutrale
positie

3. Therapeut geeft een axiale druk richting caudaal op het hoofd van

rotatie (de rotatie gaat door het gewrichtsoppervlak in combinatie
met een lateroflexie)
Jackson’s compression test:
positie patiënt: rotatie hoofd naar 1 kant.
positie therapeut: geeft druk met handen recht naar beneden. Test wordt herhaald
met hoofd naar andere kant roteren.
uitkomst: test is positief als pijn uitstraalt naar de arm.
