Lab Experiment #3: The Circulatory System
The Circulatory System includes: The heart, blood vessels and the blood. There are 2 divisions of the Cardiovascular System: 1. The Pulmonary Circuit: It is run by the right side of the heart Pulmonary arteries (vessels that carry blood away from the heart) will carry blood to the lungs, where it will pick up oxygen, and then the pulmonary veins (vessels that return blood to the heart) will bring the oxygenated blood back to the heart. 2. The Systemic Circuit: It is run by the left side of the heart. After the blood is returned to the heart from the lungs, it works to pump our blood out into our vessels and to the organs and tissues that need the blood.
