Medication Calculation Requirement As a prerequisite to the administration of medications in any clinical setting, medication calculation competency must be demonstrated. Successful completion of a medication calculation exam, Progression Medication Competency Exam, is required in each nursing course. There are 2 assessment steps to achieving medication math competency in each course. The process includes: 1. Mid-semester Self-assessment quiz 2. Progression Competency exam at the end of the semester All assessments contain 10-questions. The expected level of achievement is a 9/10 (90%).
