Medication Calculation Requirement As a prerequisite to the administration of medications in any clinical setting, medication calculation competency must be demonstrated. Successful completion of a medication calculation exam, Progression Medication Competency Exam, is required in each nursing course. There are 2 assessment steps to achieving medication math competency in each course. The process includes: 1. Mid-semester Self-assessment quiz 2. Progression Competency exam at the end of the semester All assessments contain 10-questions. The expected level of achievement is a 9/10 (90%). Please read over the student handbook and syllabus for further details. Fundamentals Fundamentals class will hold one lecture on Medication Math. Laboure math tutor group sessions are available. ATI resources are available for medication math. We recommend to start looking over the pages in your Morris Math Text (Edition 7) and start practicing. On the next slide you will see a breakdown for the chapters that will be covered.
