The findings from the data collected indicate that a significant proportion of students engage in physical activities, such as playing sports, after school. There is evidence suggesting a positive relationship between being physically active and achieving good marks in tests and examinations. Additionally, the presence of students who prioritize rest, engage in productive activities like cooking, and participate in diverse after-school pursuits highlights the variety of interests and preferences among students. These findings support the notion that encouraging physical activity and maintaining a balanced lifestyle can potentially contribute to improved academic performance.

LOLA JACOBS ASSIGNMENTS 2023- 0618151315

, PART 1
This assignment gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of learner
emotional intelligence. Emotional Intelligence is described as a skill that helps people
understand and manage their emotions and behaviours. It is therefore deemed
important that teachers help their learners understand and control their emotions
because “learning is likely to be more effective if educators help to minimise stress and
fear at school, teach students emotional regulation strategies, and provide a positive
learning environment that is motivating to students” (Hinton, Miyamoto & Della-Chiesa,
2008).
Interested to understand emotional intelligence, Lorato decided to explore her Grade 6
learners’ emotions by asking them to complete two tasks in Mathematics and English
First Additional language. She observed her learners while doing their task and took
some notes. The data she gathered showed that some students experienced positive
emotions while others experienced negative emotions during the task completion. The
negative emotions included, frustration; boredom, annoyance, anger, lack of interest in
doing the task and some anxiety. Positive emotions included pride and happiness.

Using motivation and behavioural theories (and any relevant model) design intervention
strategies or guidelines to help address the negative emotions the learners
experienced. Include a list of your references. [25]

emotions experienced by the Grade 6 learners, we can draw upon motivation
and behavioral theories. Here are some intervention strategies:

atmosphere that is supportive, encouraging, and non-threatening. This
can be achieved by fostering positive teacher-student relationships,
promoting collaboration and teamwork, and recognizing and
celebrating individual achievements. A positive learning environment
helps reduce stress and anxiety, promoting a sense of belonging and
motivation.
 Set Clear Goals and Expectations: Clearly communicate the learning
objectives and expectations for each task. This provides students with a
sense of direction and purpose, enabling them to understand the
relevance and value of the tasks. When students have a clear
