Literature Review In this paper we will discuss and compare various different articles that are being used to conduct my current change project proposal. The change proposal that is being developed is utilizing a bladder bundle in the acute care setting to reduce the incidence of catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) amongst patient’s that are admitted with indwelling catheters. The bladder bundle proposed includes the following interventions and assessments; 1.) Foley catheter needs assessment, 2.) proper foley catheter care utilizing CHG wipes that are approved for foley care by the healthcare organization, 3.) Ensuring there is no dependent loop in the foley catheter tubing, 4.) Ensuring foley catheter bag is below the level of the patient’s bladder, and 5.) Timely removal of foley catheter when no longer indicated. Now, although these articles do not cover all the interventions in the same articles, each article does include at least one of the interventions that is included in the bladder bundle.
