o When the concentration of an inorganic
element is such that it is an economic
proposition to mine the rock for one (or
more elements), the rock is termed an ore
o An ore is a naturally occurring mineral (or
aggregate of minerals) from which a metal
(or metals) may be extracted, treated, or Chrom
beneficiated with profit or expectation of
profit
