M1- Explain the points of view of different stakeholders seeking to influence the aims and
objectives of two contrasting organisations
As there are different stakeholders of Kellogg’s and the NHS, they will have different points
of views and may want different things from the businesses.
The employees of Kellogg’s and the NHS want a safe and secure job as it guarantees there
financial safety in the future which directly affects their well-being. They also want a fair
wage with good working conditions as this ensures they are being respected and not being
taken advantage of by their employers. Therefore employees want the business to grow as
this ensures demand for their jobs in the future. There fair wage and good working
conditions will be more likely to be exercised as the business continues to grow, as the
business will be more likely to afford expenditure in these areas. This is due to the NHS
receiving a larger budget and Kellogg’s having greater retained profits.
Even though Kellogg's and the NHS operate in different business sectors, the employees
have the same view point towards their job as they share the same reasons for having the
job such as to receive a wage so they can ensure the safety of them and their families.
Customers of Kellogg’s want good quality as they will have had to work hard for the money,
and do not want receive substandard food products. They also want reasonable prices as
they will not likely purchase the product if there is a low value for money. Customers will
therefore want the business to grow so they can take advantage of the economy of scale
allowing for cheaper costs and materials. Kellogg’s will be able to receive cheaper
commodities such as corn and wheat which therefore results in cheaper goods. The growth
of Kellogg’s will also allow better developed products and services to meet the needs of the
customers, as the business will be more likely to spend more on product development
which will be in the interest of the customer.
The consumers of the NHS will want greater accessibility to their entitled service as it
increases the convenience of the service. They also want to be treated safely so the
innovation of services and products will decrease death rates. A key priority for consumers
of the NHS is that they are guaranteed healthcare. Therefore the growth of the NHS serves
all these factors.
Even though Kellogg's and the NHS both provide a product and service, consumers are
entitled to each in different ways which causes different viewpoints. As consumers of
Kellogg's have to purchase their products directly, they want to ensure that they are
receiving as high quality as possible within their budget as they want to get as much value
for money. On the other hand, consumers of the NHS are entitled to their services due to
indirectly paying for it in the form of taxes. This means consumers won’t need to pay more
for increased levels of care. Due to this, consumers want to be able to access their services
in as many places as possible as it will be costing them no excess. Similarly, both consumers
