, Question 1

1.1) In your own words, briefly explain why critical reading is referred to as an active
process.

You must think critically in order to read critically. A more active method of reading is
critical reading. It is a deeper and more intricate reading experience. Analyzing,
interpreting, and sometimes evaluating are all components of critical reading. You are able
to interact with the text in a variety of ways thanks to each of these processes: outlining,
brainstorming, describing aspects of the text or argument, reflecting on your own reading
and thinking, raising objections to the ideas or evidence presented, and highlighting
important points and examples. When we read critically, we use our critical thinking
abilities to question the text as well as our own interpretation of it. Critical reading styles
may differ from discipline to discipline (e.g., scientific, philosophical, literary, etc.)

1.2) Discuss your understanding of the relationship between literary texts and language.
Use examples to clarify the relationship.

Literature and language are connected as well as between related. Literature pre-
assumes language since it is with the system of language that Literature is concretized.
Hence, it sounds silly to study. Literature without language at the middle stage or to
concentrate on language without Literature assuming an unmistakable part. It depends on
this view that the connection among Literature and language is very much depicted as
harmonious. The symbiotic relationship between Literature and language can be best
described in the words of Willmott (1979, p. 57) Literature work is an organisation for all
reading ages of language to which linguistic awareness must be applied to understand
and appreciate.
Thusly, literature communicates language in work places. As well as it assists the
understudies with utilizing language; it offers great models and animates etymological
responses of a few kinds. English educators not just show literature; they additionally
exploit it, since it can create language as well as describe it. Literature is well established
in language and language helps life through Literature. So Literature and language is
firmly associated.Lazar (1993), believes that because Literature is a motivating tool for
language attainment and it should be used with students because students enjoy it, and it
is a fun, it is found in many syllabuses.
