, THE PRINCIPLES OF
REFLECTION
LECTURE
Taxonomy of Reflection
Reflection is considered crucial in the field of teacher
education
The reason for this is that we would like to improve
every teaching moment that we have
That is why we want to focus on the meaning of “I am
a teacher: my job is to TEACH”
Adaption from the experiences of Khoza:
We use our experiences to influence our pedagogical
experiences.
Think about our negative experiences in the
classroom, like when the teacher would read from the
PowerPoint with no engagement with the class.
Then we engage in reflection on our own pedagogical
practices using the questions:
How did I feel when I was a learner in class?
How would my learners feel when I am teaching?
Taxonomy of Reflection
This model strongly relates to Bloom's taxonomy
