Introduction: Materials:Agarplate,Marker,ruler,sterileswabs Method: 1. Obtainonenutrientagaranddividethebackoftheplateinto8sectionsusingrulerandmarker.Labeleachsection 1-8. 2. Usinganewsterileswab,swab8differentinanimateobjectsfoundinthelabareaandstreaktheagar plates. 3. Recordthenameoftheswabbedobjectsinthelabreport. 4. Incubatetheagarplatesat37◦Cfor24-48hours. 5. Sealtheplateswithparafilmanddonotopentheplates. 6. Makeobservationsusingsealedplatesonly. 7. Uselabsafetyprotocolatalltimeswhileobservingeachsectionsforgrowthonthescaleof0-5.Ifthereisnogrowth,reportitaszero.Reportexcessivegrowthas5. 8. Onthelabreport,describeobservationsregardingappearance,color,shapeandsizeofthecolonies. 9. Onceobservationiscompleted,immediatelyputtheplatesinappropriatewastecontainer(biohazardbag)forautoclaving.
