Abstract

Domestic violence is highly prevalent in Pakistan. This paper proposes strategies based
on literature review and data collection using quantitative data to prevent and control
domestic violence. The causes for domestic violence against women include low
educational levels, low empowerment and least opportunities to indulge in political
activities, wrong interpretation of traditons, customs and religious norms. it also includes
the poverty in society, dowry system, male supremacy, and mostly the drug abuse of men.
with the help of this reserach we have endevoured the ways to recognise domestic abuse
as an essential issue and strengthen the needs of educational and health facilities to
prevent and control violence with combined awareness programs, including non-
governmental organizations through stakeholders. Furthermore, comprehensive laws must
be developed, and enforcement against dowry and alcohol abuse is required in low-
income countries like Pakistan. Through this paper, we have attempted to deliver the
necessary informational queries and theories relating to domestic violence against the
women of Pakistan. The differences between these abuses have been highlighted and
spoken on with the accurate data collected through online resources and queries collected
through surveys, which target the women of urban areas and the women of rural areas.
Our research solely aims to explore the current situation of domestic Violence in Pakistan
with the help of Pakistan demographic surveys, health reports, and various laws for the
prevention of domestic violence.
