Introduction:
In this report I will be gathering market research for the dessert shop inside my local
area. I will be first looking at secondary data from sources in the internet, then
performing my own primary research in the format of a questionnaire to investigate
the results from it.
P2- Secondary Research:
Secondary research is previously used research that may be used for business
purposes and is widely available. This method can be used by companies. Some
companies hire agencies to compile their secondary research. There are two types
of this research, Internal and external. Internal research consists of information that
is already within the business and external research is established from outside of
the business (for example, the internet or news articles).
Market Size:
The global desserts market was valued at £72,080,130,500.00 in the year 2018 and
is expected to increase at a figure of 5.4% as demands start to increase. This shows
that the size of the market is worth a lot and preferably easy to enter.
Market Structure:
As the size of the market is undeniably large the dessert market is a mass market
because a lot of the consumers in the uk know about it and it has become part of a
consumer's lunch or dinner.
Trends in Society:
One trend that is making a comeback is the use of new ingredients such as cookie
dough it can be used for many desserts. Desserts have become more popular as
they were before as people usually tend to have them at late night nights for a treat
with their families. Another trend is that is rising is the use of dairy free ingredients
for vegetarians because they have been more ideas of alternatives through the
times.
