Case study 8: Peripheral Arterial Disease 1. The most critical risk factors for peripheral arterial disease are hypertension and diabetes mellitus[ CITATION Wil18 l 1033 ]. 2. Based on the case study, the pulse examination indicates that peripheral arterial disease exists at the tibial artery level[ CITATION Hwa17 l 1033 ]. 3. The location of the dorsalis pedis artery is between the first and the second metatarsal bones on the top of the foot[ CITATION Hwa17 l 1033 ]. On the other hand, the posterial tibial artery pulse's location is on the medial aspect of the ankle behind the prominence of the ankle bone 4. One of the conclusions that can be drawn from the pallor and ankle-brachial test results is that the right ankle-brachial index (ABI) = 0.60 is a sign of severe obstruction while on the other hand, (ABI) = 0.85, which suggests that significant peripheral arterial disease in the left leg. Moreover, such a conclusion is indicated by the existence of level 3 pallor in the right lower leg and foot suggests the severity of the lower limb occlusive disease.
