Unit 4: Managing an event – Assignment 3
The purpose of this assignment is to introduce the event management for the
Summer's Euro Championship 2020 and how they have handled themselves in
this rising Covid- 19 pandemic. The event will be followed by my own event,
which I have organized at Windsor College. I am going to speak about the
overall profits we have made from this event, as well as our teamwork,
experiences, and teamwork. I will conclude with a justification and conclusion.

In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, this summer's Euro 2020 Championship
has been postponed until 2021. It has been planned to postpone from Friday,
11 June to Saturday, 11th July 2021. According to the FIFA president, this is the
biggest crisis that football has ever faced. The FIFA president has repeatedly
said that public health is a far more important priority than the Euro 2020.
They set the substitute postponed date as well as donating £8.3 to the World
Health Organization.
As an organiser of the Euro 2020, the public safety would be my number one
priority before handling any other tasks. As part of the response to the Covid
19 crisis, I would need to join the meeting with the other organisers and
representatives of the national football governing bodies across the continent.
Additionally, all football divisions should suspend matches or at the very least
play in empty stadiums as a countermeasure to the pandemic. Consequently,
another objective of maintaining the stadium will be to ensure that fans with
tickets for Euro 2020 can attend Euro 2021 if not, then their tickets and the
packages they have bought will be refunded in full within the next month.
Management skills needed for this
People skills are what I endure for management. The ability to communicate
effectively is crucial to my success in situations like this, since I am dealing with
high level executives, representatives, players, and other employees. A
successful negotiator must be confident but both charming and empathetic
with a sense of humour in order to work effectively with people. In order to
succeed in this role, I believe it is important to be able to establish and
maintain relationships.
, Having good listening skills is another essential skill that I need to have, as
understanding what key stakeholders, CEOs, staff, and players are saying is
essential. In the meetings around Euro 2020 and how to counter Covid 19,
every word is crucial. In order to successfully communicate, I must be able to
pay attention to what they are saying and the key conversations. It is thus
crucial that I tap into these spoken and unspoken words to ensure that I am on
the right track with regard to my planning process.
In this situation, I can use my problem-solving skills to the fullest extent
possible. The pandemic presents an emergency, so I must be resourceful with
what I have. It is my responsibility to make sure the Pandemic continues to
play a role in the success of Euro 2020, so I need to use this to increase the
quality of Euro 2021. It is crucial to be able to calm down and solve the
challenges I will face in the future by being able to deal with them
It is also necessary that I have excellent organizational skills in this situation,
since it is essential that multitasking runs smoothly and flawlessly. There is no
better way to accomplish anything than to formulate a step-by-step objective
list. In order to maintain public safety as a priority aim and objectives, such as

on the big picture. The women's team and under-21 team are also included in
this category.

organising and staging an event.
It is very important to know how to plan ahead. I tend to research ahead and
to ask for key information. To ensure that I share key information and ask the
right questions, I make a simple list ahead of time. By doing this, I am sure that
I don't forget anything or miss any important quotes. It is therefore extremely
important to plan ahead for situations such as these
In order to engage ideas and build relationships, communication skills are
essential. To show that I am very interested and to create a positive
atmosphere, I would like to introduce myself and ask authentic questions,
especially as an event organizer I will always have something to discuss simply
by asking people around.
