‘The Last Thing I expected’
Whilst investigating the death of a popular journalist, a daring detective called Amelia Parker
uncovers a supernaturally-cursed, giant blade circulating throughout London. As soon as
anyone uses the blade, they have exactly 9 days left to live. The Ill-fated appear to be
ordinary people during their day to day life, but when photographed, they look cadaverous. A
marked person feels like a supernatural creature to touch.
Amelia gets hold of the blade but refuses to believe the superstition. A bank of images flash
into her mind: a wild famished snake going for a hunt, an old newspaper headline about an
unfortunate accident and a drinking well located in a derelict place.
After a few days when Amelia notices her eyes have snake-like properties, she realises that
the curse of the giant blade is true and calls in her friend, a physiatrist called Sarah Smith, to
help.
Sarah examines the blade and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same
visions flash before his eyes. She finds the wild famished snake going for a hunt. She joins
the queue for a supernatural death.
Amelia and Sarah pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a
search for the wild snake. The next day near their residence they find a giant creature
hungry for food. Amelia remembers the same images flashing into her mind again of the
same snake, she scarcely informs Sarah. Suddenly she hears something ticking, she runs to
the corridor and stops. Silence entered her soul, she stood quiet…quiet.
