CPR, 30:2 feel pulse but below 60 bpm begin CPR [60 = too slow for kid] crap is hitting the fan, you're stranded by yourself. how long until you call for help 5 cycles of 30:2 THEN stay with kid call EMS what does the AHA recommend concerning phones need dat speaker box - ayyy two rescuers see kid drop, then what? one phones 'home' two compressions 30:2 one comes back 15:2 check pulse infants where? brachial artery inside upper arm between infants elbow and shoulder hand placement one rescuer versus two 1. two fingers 2. if hands big enough them encircling around infants chest 00:02 01:17 infants cardiac arrest is not a thing. explain usu preceded by respiratory probs - first step in pediatric chain survival prevention how many compression beats per minute for infant 100-120 where to press on infants chest center. do not press on end of sternum, can cause injury difference between checking pulse in infant with 1 versus 2 providers 1 = femoral or brachial 2 = brachial? what if breathing probs but pulse 'finite' and >60bpm one breast every three seconds how often do you assess pulse? every two minutes you respond to a child or infant that is found down. what is the next action after determining unresponsiveness? tell bystander to call 911 - early activation is key. many pediatric cardiac arrest situations are the result of respiratory problems and immediate intervention can be lifesaving contractions of the heart go from top to bottom
