For P1, learners will need to study a business and look at how existing staff are managed, eg whether staff are organised into teams, how teams liaise and staffing levels. For P2, learners will be advised to continue with the business studied for P1 and describe relevant resources that should be available. The evidence could then be combined with that given for P1. For P3, learners will need to provide written evidence. The information will already have been obtained during lessons but should be made relevant to the business. For M1, learners should extend the answers given for P1 and P2 to show an understanding of how resources are managed by demonstrating how this can improve the organisation’s performance. The evidence would best be produced by expanding, with explanations, the answers given for P1 and P2.

On my report, for task one I’m going to describe the recruitment documentation of
John Lewis as part of the human resources department. Then I’m going to describe
and assess the main employability, personal skills and communication skills required
for a specific job. I am then going to move on to describing the main physical and
technological resources required by John Lewis. Lastly I will be explaining how to
management of human, physical and technological resources can improve the
performance of a business organisation.

To obtain the relevant information needed to address these issues above, I used the
following resources
 Teacher’s notes
 Internet

Firstly, I’m going to talk about a CV which is called curriculum vitae in full. This is a
document that gives an overview of a person's experience and other qualifications. A
CV is typically the first item that a potential employer encounters regarding the job
seeker and is typically used to screen applicants, often followed by an interview. This
document usually contains a summary of the job seeker's employment history,
qualifications, education, and some personal information. Some organisations
require applicants’ photos, date of birth, and most recent salary information.

The next document I will describe is an application form. This is a document that is to
be filled in when applying for a certain job by the applicant. It is to describe personal
information, qualifications, experience etc. Some people prefer writing application
forms than CV because it is not in brief and the information is clearly stated

A job description is a document used by employers as an advertisement for
prospective employees.
A person specification is written by the firm and outlines the type of person the firm
wants. It contains the educational qualifications, previous experience, general
intelligence, specialised skills, interests, personality and physical requirements. A
person specification is to extend the job analysis. It is also a profile of the candidate
required for the work and is submitted with the organisation. It is used to match the
right person to the job and describes the desirable personal attributes of the job
holder.

The forth document is an interview form. This is a document that is completed by the
interviewer during the interview process for a new job candidate. The interviewer will
need to fill out the form during and after the interview, providing answers to specific
questions to help assess whether the job candidate is a good choice for the position.
The interview form might include questions regarding care taken in appearance;

personality traits demonstrated, such as leadership or maturity, necessary skills
required for the job; knowledge about the position, education, training etc.

Lastly I’m going to talk about a job advert. This document is about specific job
openings that can usually be found in newspapers, magazines, posters and TV
commercials etc. Job advert can include any type of job, including factory workers,
car salesman, retail managers or accountants. Most job adverts contain certain types
of information and can appear in several types of media.
