Add M1 criteria and introduce M1 task. Within your introduction include a good size paragraph on
what best practice is e.g., good communication, good rapport, building a relationship with service
users, environmental factors, knowing potential triggers of behaviours, understanding how
someone might behave if they are living with different conditions such as dementia.
We need to assess how we can evaluate people carrying out best practice (doing things well). We
can evaluate best practice via formal observations, supervision and appraisals, peer review, self-
reflection, person centered care (These are the main ways).
Explain the main ways you can evaluate best practice and include your own assessment/ evaluation
of these. Making a concluding judgement at the end which explains why you think it is the best way
and why. (Give your opinion on the strategies used to check that HSC workers are carrying out best
