Designing For Security Network access itself is controlled by controlling the router which is the entry point onto your network. We accomplish this by following these steps in setting up a new router: 1. Change the default username/password provided with the router. 2. Enable WPA2 encryption protocol 3. Set a strong passphrase that includes upper/lowercase letters, numbers, special characters and be a minimum of ten characters long. 4. Turn off SSID broadcasting 5. Enable Mac filtering to allow only the authorized devices within the household access to the network [Luc16]. The services that can be found on my network include: DNS HTTP Email Printing DHCP Within my network, the two desktop computers are hardwired into the router using RJ45 connectors on CAT6 cable. T
