 The potential of the OER usage comes from the permission granted by the open license that facilitates
reuse and possible adaption, without first requesting permission from the copy right holder.
 The open licencing frame work Creative Commons widely used in OER initiatives for realising
resources. This frame provides use-friendly open licence for digital materials through a legal
declaration which ensures that author of materials can retain acknowledgement for their work while
allowing it to be shared; further, this can restrict commercial activity and can prevent the adoption.

Grade 11 Business Studies class

3.1 What is the issue or problem you want to investigate regarding a subject you teach?
According to action research, this is Planning the first step in the planning moment is the identification and
clarification of a situation or state of affairs which has to be changed or improved. According to Carr
and Kemmis (1986:110), a problem occurs when the curriculum practice is inadequate to serve the
purpose it is intended to serve.
 Grade 2 learners do not understand Geometry

(1991:73) divides this step into two activities: describing the facts of the situation; and explaining the facts

and count to find the total number of them.
 Learners do not understand that a rectangle can be partitioned into unit squares, and that there are a
number of reasonable ways to count the resulting squares.
 In grade 1 learners did not have a teacher for term 3 and 4 as a result the have no background of
Geometry.
 Learners do not work together there is no collaboration in the class
 The school have limited resources available to teach the subject.
 Parents are not involved in their children’s school work, they do not help learners with their
HomeWorks.
