The benefits that come from collaborative organization are it helps in creating a common purpose and context for decision making, it develops a commitment, and it helps with understanding the overall goals of the organization. It helps to provide the necessary balance between generating new and exciting ideas and discipline necessary to do the job. By providing the information necessary to make good decisions and the authority and accountability to implement those decisions. It ensures that each individual fulfills his or her role effectively and provides some value-adding contribution. (Beyerlein, Freedman, McGee, & Moran, n.d.) How can using a systems approach help the collaborative organization achieve its goals? System thinking is an approach for developing models to promote our understanding of events, patterns of behavior resulting in the events, and even more importantly, the underlying structure responsible for patterns of behavior (Systems Thinking, n.d.). A collaborative organization can use this approach to strengthen its operations and especially in identifying the external and internal factors which affect an organization
