The great switcheroo continuation

Last night’s accident hasn’t slipped my mind. Jerry got of the right end and I, I got of the bad end.
Mary liked Jerry’s routine better and I can’t stand the fact that my own wife prefers someone else’s
routine over mine. I can’t let Jerry get away with this. I wasn’t prepared for this outcome of our great
switch, but it looks like I’m going to have to figure something out. I have to make a plan to put Jerry
in a bad light.

That’s when the greatest idea popped up. What if I could make Jerry look guilty? What if it looked
like he was the one going to Mary, but I never went to Samantha? I could set something up. A whole
plan that would expose Jerry, probably ruin his marriage with Samantha and it would give me the
opportunity to get close to Samantha.

This plan has to be set in motion. It can’t be too soon, because that’s what Jerry and I agreed to when
we made the plan. In two weeks Jerry and I will execute our plan again, I’m going to their house and
Jerry is coming to my house. Except for the fact that I’m not going to Jerry and Samantha’s house. I
will tell Mary that my mom got in an accident and I had to check up on her. Nothing serious of
course, but serious enough to stay away for an hour or so. When I return I’m going to pretend that
the emergency procedure had to be set in motion. I’ll ring the doorbell, Jerry will rush downstairs,
but the second I ring the doorbell Mary will wake up too. I plan on getting upstairs before Jerry has
the time to actually leave my house. I will pretend to be shocked when I see Jerry with Mary. ‘‘Mary
how could you do this to me?’’ Is what I will say.

The day has come, today I will expose Jerry and I will finally have a shot at a future with Samantha.
It’s almost time, that means I have to get ready. Jerry and I decided to change the finger-plaster
routine a bit, because it would get obvious if we cut our fingers every two weeks. I’m going to cut the
cheese with my cheese slicer and ‘’accidentally’’ cut the palm of my hand. Jerry will do the exact
same thing. I will wear my slippers and my raincoat, I have to look exactly the way I looked last time. I
can’t arouse any suspicion from Jerry. This time the plan will go my way, the right way.

It’s almost dark so I decided to start the plan. ‘’Mary would you like some camembert on crackers?’’ I
said to Mary. ‘’Yes darling, I’ll have two please’’ she replied. ‘’God damnit, I cut my finger!’’. I show
her the sticky plaster that I put on the palm of my hand. ‘’Vic, do you always have to be this clumsy?’’
she said while laughing at me. I figured this wouldn’t work for the next time. If there’s even going to
be a next time, may my plan fail in any way. If I cut myself every two weeks even if it’s with different
utensils, Mary will still get suspicious.

After we ate our crackers Mary went upstairs to get ready for bed. She’s getting ready in the
bathroom and I’m going through the plan one more time. Mary’s in bed and I’m getting ready for bed
as well. I suddenly get this jealous feeling. Was I aware that I literally sent someone else to take care
of my wife for the night? I should’ve thought it through better last time. Was my night with
Samantha worth having my own wife thinking that it was my routine she liked so much? ’’Keep your
head clear Vic’’. I said to myself. The plan must go on.

When I come back to the bedroom I whisper ‘’Mary, Mary?’’ ‘’Are you still awake?’’. No response.
This means it’s showtime. I take my raincoat and my slippers, I leave the door open, so Jerry can get
in and I go to the gap in the hedge. Jerry is not here yet. When he comes he has a certain vibe around
him. He seems nervous. I have to convince him, that it’s all going to be alright. ‘’Hi vic’’ he said with a
certain amount of fear in his voice. ‘’Hello Jerry’’ I said. ‘’Are you ready for tonight? Mary had a
wonderful night last time, it’s all going to be okay.’’ ‘’Yes’’ he said with a shaking voice. ‘’I’m just
