Unit 8 – Computer Games Development


User Requirements

Audience, Purpose, and Client Requirements

The game that I will be creating on construct 3 will be targeted for 7-11 year olds. This is my target

audience as the game is being created in order to keep the younger people more entertained and

bring them some type of distraction from the real world. This is why I have chosen the age range of 7

to 11-year olds as my target age range is designed to keep the younger audience entertained for

when they are bored and need something to keep them distracted. The game will not include any

gore or violence as this can have a negative influence on them as they may be influenced by this. The

requirements of this game are to keep the game easy to play and to incorporate as many levels as

possible to keep them distracted and entertained from their real-life problems. As they play more

and complete each level, the following will become harder for them to complete. This done by

making it harder to complete it a shorter amount of time. A scoreboard will also be required to

record the score when collecting the items to complete the level.


Platform

The platform that I will use to create the game is construct 3 as it is very easy to design and create

the game using the tools and features it provides. Also, it allows me to save any progress I have

made and then reopen it using the file, which makes its very easy to continue doing work the

following day due to this save feature. Due to this, I will be using construct 3 as it is easy to use and

has the saving features.


Game Assets

The game assets will be to include the sprite, sound effects, coding etc. These are the assets that

make up the game and help create it to the end point. The game asset is part of what makes the
