Individueel perspectief: Een verklaring van menselijk gedrag op basis van individuele gevallen.

Sociologisch perspectief: Een verklaring van menselijk gedrag op basis van sociale fenomenen.

Sociale context: De sociale omgeving/situatie waarin mensen zich begeven en bewegen.

Sociaal fenomeen: Een collectief van menselijk gedrag, denk aan obesitas.
