1. WELCOME

Welcome to the module Teaching Practice TPF2602. This examination portfolio
(Assignment 50) must be completed as part of the compulsory learning from
Practice and in Practice. You will need to complete a few activities prior going to a
school for Grade R to prepare for Grade R. You are expected to complete case
studies, scenarios and online activities as well as lessons. During the two weeks in
Grade R you will be required to do observation and co-teaching together with the
Grade R teacher. We hope you will find this module interesting and that it will enrich
your teaching career.

You must read through all the tutorial letters you receive as they always contain
important and sometimes, urgent information. You will receive all these letters on
registration and you can also download them soon after registration They are our
way of communicating with you about teaching, learning and assessment.

Tutorial Letter 101 contains important information about the assignments for this
module. We urge you to read through it carefully and to keep it at hand when
working through the study material, preparing the assignments and addressing
questions to your lecturers.

We have also included certain general and administrative information about this
module. Please study this section of the tutorial letter carefully. It contains the first
round of teaching practice, namely two weeks of online teaching practice, which
requires you to complete case studies, scenarios and online lesson activities.
Submit this examination portfolio 50 two weeks after completing the teaching
practice in Grade R, and before doing one week in Grade 1 (Portfolio 51). The
examination portfolio is the final examination for the module. All closing dates can
be viewed online and are not during the same month.

We are aware that problems may occasionally disrupt your studies. Please contact
your lecturer via e-mail or by telephone should you wish to discuss any problems.
