• Environmental education involves formal, informal, and non-formal education
processes which need to be taught across all sectors of society.
• Global views should be included which involves the development of a holistic
global environmental ethic.
• Problem-solving, environmental education involves helping learners to
develop relevant thinking processes for effective resolution of complex
environmental problems.
• Environmental education places emphasis on active participation in
preventing and solving environmental problems.
• It should be taught at all grade levels from preschool through high school and
beyond. (multi-level)
