Unit 7 – Mobile Apps Development

Introduction

In this assignment, I will be analysing and being able to analyse mobile applications and devices with

introducing an understanding of the variety of device and functionality offered. Furthermore, I will

also explore how mobile apps operate, why they are made, similarities and differences between

each device and the meaning of producing and utilising software on mobile device. Therefore, to

create high quality mobile apps, I would need to evaluate how they are developed to particularly

work on every single mobile device and ensure that applications run smoothly without any issues

developing.

Types of Mobile Apps

Web Apps

In computer system, a web application is a client-side and server-side software programme in which

the client runs or request in a web browser. Common web applications include email, online retail

transactions, online auctions, instant messaging services and more.

The first advantage of web applications is it being multi-platform. Meaning the same programme

may operate on several platforms. This helps more people gain access to it and saves time on

development, since they will not have to recode it for different platforms. The second advantage of

web applications is that is inexpensive to build. One reason for this is being able to make

modifications to the application fast. As the app is hosted via the internet, modifications may be

made and everyone using it will see the changes instantly. This reduces the requirement for space

on the device for updates since users are accessing the app via their browser.
