My group and I have chosen Scenario number 4
A meeting between a headmaster and parents about their child’s poor
performance at school
(Door knocks)
Headmaster: Come in
(Door opens)
Headmaster: Good afternoon, Mr and Mrs Asare. Please take a seat. My name is
Clair Hooper, and I am the headmaster for Mary High Academy.
(Gestures towards the two chairs)
Mr Asare: Thank you for having us, where should we begin?
Headmaster: Well honestly I am afraid to say it’s not a good start. I don’t know
where to begin. Um... Your daughter’s performance in school is lacking, for her
abilities. I would like to discuss with you about the different paths we can take
from here on.
Mrs Asare: Can you be more specific in what subjects she is falling behind on?
Headmaster: Here is a report of your daughters last terms; compared to the
first term… these results are quite inadequate. You can clearly see the
difference.
(Hands the parents a report)
Mr Asare: WHAT!?!!… Are you sure this is right… Check the results again…
These results are disgraceful, this must be a mistake check them again!!!
Headmaster: Mr Asare, I can assure you that this report is accurate, and has
been assessed 3 times, by more than one member of staff, I have also spoken to
Erica’s teachers to find out what is going wrong in her classes.
Mrs Asare: And what did they say?
