different purposes in a selected organisation. The selected
organisation I will be discussing is Sainsbury’s.

If the government collects figures of unemployment in the UK
to create new training or employment schemes. These same
figures could be used by other departments to figure out the
poverty level but is the used out with the government. This
enables Sainsbury’s Employers to look at these figures if they
are opening a new branch, they can also detect where people
will be most likely to be looking for work so they can find the
cheapest labour. A reporter could then also write an article on
this subject and so would use this information. The government
could also help with their employment statistics. Sainsbury’s as
a foods retailer business use information on Office of National
Statistic to find out people disposable income also look at
unemployment rate, if they find out unemployment rate and
people are not working, they may reduce their stock mainly
because people may not able to afford to buy it, therefore
Sainsbury’s will make a decision on increasing production in
their own brand.

Companies like Sainsbury’s research information that will help
them increase the sales and level of interest in their business.
The key thing to researching information that helps run your
business to ensure it is accurate and reliable. Some companies
will pay to access commercially available databases that offer a
range of information directly based on their business sector.
