Lecture 3 Business-to-business (B2B Marketing)

B2B marketing is the marketing of offerings to businesses or
other organisations for use in their production processes, for
consumption or use in their operations, or for resale to other
customers. Some B2B companies are Rolce Royce (sells its
engines to the aviation industry), Volvo sells busses, trucks and
engines in the marine industry.

A toaster is build up of many small parts that are assembled by
the ‘toaster company’. The raw materials that the company
orders to assemble are a sheer example of B2B Firms. If a
business starts to produce all the components by itself, the cost
of the toaster would go very high and here is where the need for
B2B organizations comes in. They indeed form a major part of
the demand in a country.
